Forced To Be An Empty Nester: I Wasn’t Ready

Heaven may have been ready for my baby boy but I sure wasn't ready to let him. We're never really ever adequately prepared for the negatively impactful moments in our lives. As an only child raised by a single parent, I always joked about not being the parent who would be sad when the kids were out of the house because I would get to enjoy my space again. Well, I never imagined that I would actually be a grieving empty-nester because I was forced to be one 8 years sooner than expected. You never know what life will throw at you! But what I do know is that no matter how great the punch may have been, we are still not meant to stay on the ground and give up. No!! We were designed to get back up no matter how many times we're knocked down and fulfill the purpose that God created us to fulfill.
